Masterclass
The online masterclass event takes place between 10 am and 12 pm. The invited guests can watch and listen to a presentation by Mr. Kristian Kielmayer Dip WSET – who will also act as the tasting event’s moderator. The presentation describes the Hungarian wine regions, the major grape varieties and provides insight into the diverse world of Hungarian wines through an exciting selection of wines. After the presentation Jakub Pribyl, the well-known Czech sommelier guides the participants through the tasting with the help of Kristian. Questions from the audience are welcome throughout the event.
About Mr. Jakub Přibyl: Jakub holds an Advanced Sommelier diploma from the Court of Master Sommeliers in London and has also got a certification from ASI (Association la Sommellerie Internationale). He is three times winner of Bohemia Sekt Trophée (Czech Sommelier Championship) and was a semifinalist at the 2017 European Championship in Austria. Nowadays he runs his own business Wine&Degu in Prague city center and works as a consultant for several wine importers and retailers. He is also a judge on many national and internatioanal wine competitions and is a regular contributor to Wine&Degustation wine magazine. He is the co-author of the wine guide, The Best wines of Czech Republic.
About Mr. Kristian Kielmayer: Kristian holds degrees in economics, winemaking and wine and spirits from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust in London. He is a senior consultant for the Ministry of Agriculture, his main areas of expertise are wine communication and sensory evaluation. He is also a lecturer at national and foreign wine schools. He regularly judges at various international wine and distillation competitions, he is also a member of the National Wine Expert Committee.
